Towards Correct Transformation: From High-Level Models to Time-Triggered Implementations

چکیده
In embedded systems, high-level component-based design approaches have been proposed in order to allow specification and design of complex real-time systems. However, their final implementations mostly rely on the generation of code for generic execution platforms. On the other hand, a variety of RealTime Operating System (RTOS), in particular when based on the Time-Triggered (TT) paradigm, guarantee the temporal and behavioural determinism of the executed software. However, these TT-based RTOS do not provide high-level design frameworks enabling the scalable design of complex safety-critical realtime systems. The goal of our work is to couple a high-level component-based design approach based on the RT-BIP (RealTime Behaviour-Interaction-Priority) framework with a safetyoriented real-time execution platform, implementing the TT approach. Thus, we combine their complementary advantages, by deriving correct-by-construction TT implementations from highlevel componentised models. To this end, we propose an automatic transformation process from RT-BIP models into applications for the target platform based on the TT execution model. This transformation is already partially implemented.

Case Study: Model Transformations for Time-triggered Languages
In this study, we introduce a model transformation tool for a time-triggered language: Giotto. The tool uses graphs to represent the source code (Giotto) and the target (the schedule-carrying code) of the transformation, and has been implemented entirely using graph rewriting techniques. The meta-models of the input and the output were specified using standard (UML) technology, and the transfor...
متن کاملAutomatic Generation of Implementations For Object-Oriented Abstractions
We present a general-purpose code transformation system, the POET system, for the purpose of automatic code generation from high-level behavior specifications of object-oriented abstractions to low-level efficient implementations in C++ and Java. In particular, we have developed an extended finite-state-machine-based language, iFSM, which models the behavior logic together with implementation d...
متن کاملLoop Transformation Recipes for Code Generation and Auto-Tuning
In this paper, we describe transformation recipes, which provide a high-level interface to the code transformation and code generation capability of a compiler. These recipes can be generated by compiler decision algorithms or savvy software developers. This interface is part of an auto-tuning framework that explores a set of different implementations of the same computation and automatically s...
متن کاملConstraint-based specification of model transformations
Model transformations are a central element of model-driven development (MDD) approaches. The correctness, modularity and flexibility of model transformations is critical to their effective use in practical software development. In this paper we describe an approach for the automated derivation of correct-by-construction transformation implementations from high-level specifications. We illustra...
متن کاملFormalization and Correctness of the PALS Pattern for Asynchronous Real-Time Systems
Due to physical requirements, what in essence and at a higher level of abstraction is a logically synchronous real-time system has to be often realized as a distributed, asynchronous system. Getting asynchronous real-time systems right is a very error prone and labor-intensive task. The Physically Asynchronous Logically Synchronous (PALS) architectural pattern can greatly reduce the design and ...
